High transverse momentum inclusive neutral pion production in d+Au collisions at RHIC

Preliminary results are presented on high-pT inclusive neutral pion production in d+Au collisions at sqrt(sNN) = 200 GeV in the pseudo-rapidity range 0 gamma,gamma are detected in the Barrel electromagnetic calorimeter of the STAR experiment at RHIC. The analysis procedure is described in detail and the results are found to be in good agreement with earlier STAR findings and with next-to-leading order perturbative QCD calculations.Comment: 4 pages, 3 figures, poster proceedings of Quark Matter conference, Budapest (Hungary), 4-9 August 200

Analysis of migration processes based on census data

The subject matter of research is the internal migration processes of the Russian population in the period from the 1960s to 2010. The research is based on the data about the territorial population flows published in the all-Union census materials of 1970, 1979, and 1989, and in the all-Russia census materials of 2002 and 2010. The basic migration flows and directions are considered. Methodologically, the analysis of migration is based on the use of end-to-end indicators enabling to assess the dynamics of migration processes over a long period. Special attention is paid to rural-urban internal migrations, the volumes, patterns and consequences of which have not been so far properly investigated or assessed. The authors offer and calculate relative indicators that have never been used to assess the processes in question. To make the census materials of the soviet and post-soviet periods comparable, the economic zoning adopted before 2000 is used, and the administrative-territorial network is unified. The authors confirm the hypothesis that from decade to decade the intensity of territorial mobility of both urban and rural population was reduced. Interregional migration flows are considered, and various tendencies and migration intensity for over four decades are de ned. The authors analyze the dynamics in the structure of migrants by the time they lived in the place of their permanent residence in various regions. The research shows that the tendencies developed at that time and persisting continue to adversely affect the territorial re-distribution of population and the regional social and economic development of the country. Non-transversality of the gluon polarization tensor in a chromomagnetic background

We investigate the question about the transversality of the gluon polarization tensor in a homogeneous chromomagnetic background field. We re-derive the non transversality known from a pure one loop calculation using the Slavnov-Taylor identities. In addition we generalize the procedure to arbitrary gauge fixing parameter $\xi$ and calculate the $\xi$-dependent part of the polarization tensor.Comment: subm. to TM

Ceramics with adjustable dielectric properties based on the system SrO – TiO₂ – SiO₂

This work presents the results of optimization of the compositions area of radio-absorbing ceramic. As a result of laboratory samples test, dependences "composition – property" was obtained, the choice of the most technologically advanced composition area and sintering temperature for manufacturing the radio-absorbing ceramic was substantiated. The optimal composition of the Sr- titanate ceramics is characterized by the following properties: water absorption (W = 1,3 %), dielectric permeability (ε = 115), density (ρ =4,35·10³ kg/m³)

Порожниста сферична молекула діоксиду силіцію (SiO2)20(H2O)10: теоретичні розрахунки IЧ-спектру

The IR spectrum of hollow spherical molecule (SiO2)20(H2O)10 have been calculated within harmonic approximation using density functional theory method (exchange-correlation functional B3LYP and basis set 6-31G (d, p)) and an assignment have been made of the frequencies to the forms of vibrations. It has been shown that the theoretically calculated spectrum of molecule (SiO2)20(H2O)10 is consistent with the experimental spectra of nanospheres, so the molecule (SiO2)20(H2O)10 and its higher homologues can be used in quantum-chemical calculations of the properties of synthesized hollow nanospheres (d ≈ 290 nm).Методом функціоналу густини з гібридним обмінно-кореляційним функціоналом B3LYP і базисним набором 6-31G(d, p) в гармонічному наближенні розраховано інфрачервоний спектр порожнистої сферичної молекули (SiO2)20(H2O)10 та виконано віднесення частот у відповідністю з формою коливань. Показано, що теоретично розрахований спектр молекули (SiO2)20(H2O)10 узгоджується із експериментальним спектром наносфер, а тому молекулу (SiO2)20(H2O)10 та її вищі гомологи можна використовувати при квантовохімічних розрахунках властивостей синтезованих порожнистих наносфер (d ≈ 290 нм)
